Base pay range Location Location: Birmingham Jewellery quarter (Head Office) with ad-hoc travel to other company sites (Company car provided) Start Date: January/February Reporting To: Head Office Manager Purpose of the Role To provide Technology consultancy and comprehensive IT support across the company’s infrastructure, ensuring smooth operations at the Birmingham Home office and other retail sites. This includes EPOS, ERP, hardware, software, and network support, as well as managing user accounts and troubleshooting issues both remotely and on-site. Key Responsibilities You will guide the business through a Technology refresh for their EPOS, and provide advisory on streamlining business activity through a ERP implementation.
Technical Support Provide first-line and second-line support for all IT-related issues across factory and retail sites. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems for desktops, laptops, printers, servers, and EPOS systems. Manage Office 365 accounts, email configurations, and Microsoft cloud storage. Configure firewalls and maintain network connectivity (Wi‑Fi). Support EPOS systems and liaise with external vendors when necessary. Infrastructure Management Maintain and update IT equipment at all sites. Assist with physical setups (cabling, network installations) if new sites open. Ensure GDPR compliance in handling customer data. User Support Respond to IT requests via email or phone (no formal ticketing system is in place). Support office admin staff with invoicing systems, online orders, and stock management tools. Assist retail staff with POS systems and connectivity issues. Travel Visit retail sites on an ad-hoc basis when issues cannot be resolved remotely.
Skills & Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 3–4 years in IT support or similar role. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Office 365, and basic networking. Experience with EPOS systems and troubleshooting hardware. Familiarity with firewalls and cloud storage solutions. Hands‑on skills of ERP implementation or consultancy. Soft Skills: Strong communication and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage priorities. Other Requirements: Full UK driving license (due to travel between sites).
