Oliver James is seeking an experienced Senior Developer to join a market-leading global re-insurer. This role sits within the actuarial systems function, working closely with technical teams across multiple regions to enhance modelling capability, streamline processes, and deliver innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
* Design, maintain, and improve actuarial modelling tools to ensure consistency and efficiency across the business.
* Translate business requirements into technical specifications, implementing model changes and carrying out rigorous testing.
* Develop strong working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, both actuarial and non-actuarial.
* Produce and maintain clear documentation and guidance materials.
* Utilise advanced coding skills (e.g., C++, Python, VBA) to optimise model performance and automation.
* Contribute to peer review processes and drive continuous improvement in model governance.

Experience Required:
* Part or fully qualified actuary with relevant experience in life insurance or reinsurance.
* Proficient in coding, with experience in at least one of C++, Python, or VBA.
* Exposure to actuarial modelling platforms such as MoSes, Tyche, or equivalent.
* Knowledge of life, critical illness, income protection, and annuity/longevity products is advantageous.
* Strong Excel skills and excellent communication abilities.
* Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines.
* Familiarity with Agile ways of working would be beneficial.
