Location: Bristol/Manchester/Birmingham/Northampton/London – There will be an expectation that the role holder will travel to locations as required to enable successful project outcomes
The IS Senior Technical Delivery Manager will be working alongside the Project Managers, Programme Managers and the Mitie Technical Delivery Teams or 3rd Party Vendors to ground and baseline the technical components of the plan
The role reports to the Head of Quality Assurance and Technical Delivery. It involves assuring the technical integration across all projects, ensuring that all the technical teams have provided their delivery plans, that these are detailed and grounded with the appropriate resources, with well-defined deliverables and artefacts in line with the project charter
The IS Senior Technical Delivery Manager will make project interventions as required to address and manage technical related delivery risks, issues and project dependencies, ensuring that the right technical teams are engaged and accountable. They will communicate with and influence key stakeholders while supporting the IS strategy
The Successful candidate requires a sound technical delivery background and experience in the Software Development lifecycle including Operations, strategic thinking, and adaptability. The role necessitates extensive leadership experience and stakeholder management skills to ensure accountability within all the technical delivery teams and 3rd party Vendors involved in the project
Main Duties
- Shaping and ensuring that the Mitie technical and 3rd party teams provide grounded and resourced technical plans to the Project Manager
- Working with the technical teams to ensure logging of any dependencies, risks and issues
- Make project interventions as required to address technical delivery risks and issues. Utilizing technical knowledge to ensure the right teams are engaged and accountable
- Communicating and influencing key stakeholders whilst supporting the IS strategy
- Build and maintain strong relationships with IS PM's, Programme Managers, Ops, ‘heads of' and ISBPs Leveraging them as required to support technical deliverables
- Support ISBPs in the creation of business cases and ensure that the technical teams are engaged and are providing integral inputs
What we are looking for
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or substantial experience in a related field. A master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus
- Domain knowledge of either SAP, Maximo or AI applications would be highly desirable
- A Technology background and Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT Technical project management
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex IT projects on time and within budget
- Ability to break down problems to ensure the correct resources are engaged
- Experience of facilities management operations and the technology solutions that support them would be highly desirable
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Project and Project Online
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
