CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator

Hours: 39 hours per week (day shift), with selected overtime depending on workload

We are currently seeking a skilled and proactive CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator to join a busy precision engineering team based in Hayes, West London.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CNC milling, specifically on Hurco 3-axis machines, and occasionally using 4th-axis rotary tables. This is a permanent role offering the opportunity to work on high-quality, tight-tolerance components for various subcontract engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities of CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator

Program CNC milling machines using Hurco WinMax controls directly at the machine or via CAM software.
Set and operate 3-axis CNC mills, including the use of 4th-axis rotary tables when required.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications.
Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for efficient CNC machining.
Inspect components using measuring tools such as verniers, micrometers, and gauges.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with company standards.
Collaborate with other departments and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements of a CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator:

Proven experience in CNC programming, setting, and operating Hurco milling machines.
Familiarity with 4th-axis (rotary table) operations is beneficial.
Ability to work to tight tolerances (typically ±0.01mm) from complex engineering drawings.
Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and work holding methods.
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Flexibility to meet production demands and deadlines.
