We are seeking a Data Architect to join our Digital, Data & Technology Directorate. This is a great opportunity to advance your career while supporting the NHS. The ideal candidate will be excellent at problem solving, relationship building, and possess outstanding technical data architecture skills.
You will join the Data Strategy & Governance team within a newly developed data architecture function. Your responsibilities include analyzing data modeling and collection, identifying gaps, and recommending improvements. You will help design, develop, and implement data principles and standards across the organization. Enthusiasm, logical thinking, and a drive to succeed are essential.

Main duties of the job
- Review NHSBSA's critical data assets, cataloguing data items and sources
- Work with product teams to define data requirements based on data architecture standards
- Build and manage the repository of NHSBSA's data assets and define/manage data standards
- Develop robust data models to meet customer needs and create technical design documentation
- Research emerging technologies and best practices to maintain standards
- Design and maintain metadata repositories using various tools
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure solutions adhere to architectural principles and meet customer needs
- Provide SME input on data architecture standards, policies, and practices
- Evaluate external technical proposals and recommend implementations
- Explain data modeling concepts and update relevant data models
