What We do / The Team

The Cloud Architecture team in Enterprise Technology enables tech teams to build secure, modern, cloud-native solutions – on-premises or in the public cloud. We focus on bridging gaps between tools and platforms, accelerating adoption through proven patterns and hands-on support. We deliver reference architectures, code accelerators, and production-grade examples, while providing advisory services and collaborative engagement to help teams deliver robust, scalable solutions.

Role Overview/What will you do:

1. Set up, test, and troubleshoot containerised development environments using Podman
2. Contribute to the development of code accelerators
3. Write small tools (mostly in Python, Bash, or Terraform) to support developer workflows or demos
4. Participate in hands-on prototyping or demos of architectural patterns for internal teams
5. Create and update internal documentation and developer guides to facilitate adoption
6. Join pairing or working sessions with other engineers to promote smooth adoption
7. Learn and explore new tools and cloud-native technologies (AWS, GCP, Snowflake, Databricks) under senior team members' guidance

Key Skills and Experience required –

• A strong academic background in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related fields
• Proficiency in Java or Python
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Proactive learner with self-teaching ability and capacity to educate others
• Familiarity with Linux command line and shell scripting
• Understanding of data concepts – file formats (CSV, Parquet), data pipelines, storage layers
• Exposure to containers and Podman or Docker
• Comfortable with Git; awareness of CI/CD practices and tools like GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps

Nice to have:

• Experience with Apache Spark / Flink / Kafka
• Familiarity with AWS S3 object storage
• Knowledge of containerised workflows using VSCode
• Basic understanding of cloud platforms like AWS or GCP
• Experience contributing to open-source projects or internal code templates, demos, accelerators
• Familiarity with data catalog services (Hive, Polaris, Glue)
