The team:

Developer Experience at Zopa supports engineering productivity through tooling, platforms, and standards. Current projects include unified build‑and‑release processes, a developer portal, AI automation, diagnostics, and observability migration, working with AWS, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Terraform, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Go, and more.

A day in the life:

As a DevX Engineer, you will build and improve internal tools, write Go code, develop CI/CD pipelines, and manage Terraform infrastructure. Your day includes stand-ups, coding, collaboration, and supporting engineers through forums, documentation, and issue resolution. The environment is fast-paced and collaborative, emphasizing technical depth and human-centered software delivery.

About you:

• Proven experience with CI/CD, deployment, and container orchestration (Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Terraform, Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
• Strong AWS skills and proficiency in at least one programming language (preferably Go)
• Experience operating and troubleshooting production platforms at scale
• Knowledge of observability tools (Prometheus, Splunk) and eagerness to learn Honeycomb
• Excellent communication skills, developer empathy, and collaboration skills
• Data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement mindset
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and incident management
• Growth mindset, curiosity about GenAI’s impact on developer productivity

Nice to have:

• Experience with mobile or serverless (Lambda) CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of regulated or high-compliance domains, especially fintech
• Contributions to open-source DevX or CNCF projects
• Advanced Honeycomb or observability-as-code expertise
• Relevant cloud/Kubernetes certifications (optional)

Additional info:

We are moving to a new headquarters at 20 Water Street, Canary Wharf, by the end of 2025. The role offers hybrid work: 2-3 days in our London office, with the option to work abroad up to 120 days/year, subject to legal work rights. We value flexible working and work-life balance.
