Duties and Responsibilities

As a Senior Commis Waiter/ess, I will support Food & Beverage Management and assume responsibility for the efficient operation of the following:

• Manage food expedition in collaboration with the kitchen.
• Supervise all food timing during service hours, including allergies and special requirements, ensuring smooth delivery to guest tables.
• Ensure proper setup before service and that SOPs are updated for all service setups of the Kitchen pass.
• Review bookings and plan for smooth departmental operation during shifts.
• Take guest orders from any Food & Beverage outlet.
• Provide exceptional service at all times following standards and steps of service.
• Greet guests on arrival and conduct welcome and check-in procedures efficiently and courteously.
• Answer outlet telephone calls courteously and efficiently.
• Inspect menus and wine lists for condition and cleanliness, ensure availability, and update as needed.
• Work with an empathetic attitude; escalate issues to Management when necessary.
• Maintain the guest recognition program, paying attention to food preferences, allergies, and dietary requests.
• Communicate guest feedback, inquiries, and comments; follow up with management.
• Have good knowledge of all outlet menus (food and wine) and daily F&B activities.
• Be aware of all F&B outlets' opening hours.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance, grooming, and hygiene.
• Adhere strictly to LQA standards.

Qualifications

To succeed as a Senior Commis Waiter/ess, I should possess the following qualifications, skills, and experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality diploma/degree from a recognized institution is preferred. At least 1 year of experience in a similar role within luxury hotels with proven results.
• Technical skills include MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with hotel systems such as MICROS/POS platforms. Knowledge of hotel policies on discounts and food promotions.
• Understanding of Food and Beverage terminology, operations, wine service, menu development, food hygiene codes, and inventory control.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
