What you'll do?

As a Staff Software Engineer, your work will contribute to group goals and occasionally lead projects beyond your direct team. You will report to managers and group leads, working collaboratively to deliver results.

Technical Execution:

You will be recognized as an expert in at least one technical area, sought after for reviews and advice by multiple teams.

Your responsibilities include forecasting project timelines, managing risks, setting sustainable team paces, defining technical solutions for business problems, and understanding the context of company decisions.

You will also align non-adjacent teams to resolve complex challenges, coach team members, and support leadership development.

You will lead your team's technical direction and influence strategic decisions, building relationships across teams.

Staff Engineers are expected to lead engineering interviews and help set standards for lower levels, contributing to recruiting efforts.

While not all experience areas are required, familiarity with the following is appreciated:

• Readable, well-designed, well-tested software
• Web applications in languages like Go, Ruby/Rails, Python, Scala, or Rust
• Relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Web architecture at scale (20krpm+)
• NoSQL data backends (Redis, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch, Memcache)
• Logistical software solutions
