Transition Planning Lead – Strategic IT Operations Programme
Location: London (Hybrid)
Start Date: Immediate
Rate: Up to £525/day Inside IR35
Duration: 3 months initially - high likelihood of extension
Are you an experienced transition leader ready to drive a high-impact outsourcing programme? We’re seeking a Transition Planning Lead to manage the end-to-end planning, governance, and risk mitigation for a major IT operations transition—ensuring continuity, compliance, and strategic alignment.
Role Overview
You’ll lead the successful transition of people, processes, and technology from one operational model to another, with minimal disruption to business services. This includes managing dependencies, overseeing knowledge transfer, and ensuring a smooth cutover aligned with organisational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive transition plan across all streams: people, process, and technology.
- Lead governance forums for effective stakeholder engagement and decision-making.
- Identify and manage risks and interdependencies to prevent delays or disruptions.
- Oversee service handover and knowledge transfer to ensure operational continuity.
- Align transition activities with broader organisational outsourcing strategies.
- Deliver a seamless operational cutover with minimal business impact.
Your Experience
- Proven success in leading large-scale IT service transitions in complex, regulated environments.
- Experience working with or within large law firms or professional services organisations.
- Strong background in transition governance, stakeholder management, and risk mitigation.
- Skilled in managing outsourcing programmes where compliance, security, and service quality are critical.
