About the Position
We are seeking a commercially astute, strategically minded Vice President of Solutions to lead our EMEA Solutions function. This executive role is suited for a senior energy market expert with a strong commercial orientation and the ability to translate market insight into action. You will combine domain leadership in energy systems and modelling with the business acumen required to drive growth, transform our delivery model, and lead a high-performing professional services organisation.
As VP Solutions, you will shape and execute the regional solutions strategy—aligning solution offerings to go-to-market priorities, expanding our sellable addressable market (SAM), and accelerating sales cycles through compelling value propositions. You will be accountable for building scalable, consultative delivery capabilities that support the full customer journey from pre-sales through to successful implementation and long-term value creation.
This role is a key member of the EMEA leadership team and plays a vital part in strengthening our position as the trusted modelling partner to utilities, investors, governments, developers, and market operators across the region.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Execution
Own and drive the EMEA Solutions strategy—identifying high-growth segments, expanding our sellable addressable market (SAM), and aligning delivery capabilities with regional go-to-market priorities. Translate policy, technology, and investment trends into actionable commercial accelerators. Champion a consultative, value-based approach that improves sales velocity and shapes winning solution narratives.
Professional Services Operations
Run the Solutions function as a mature, customer-facing professional services business. Oversee resource planning, delivery methodology, utilisation, and commercial performance. Drive consistency and credibility in PLEXOS model design and solution delivery across planning, operations, and strategic use cases. Be confident working with contracts—supporting the development of scopes and identifying risk mitigation provisions to ensure commercial clarity and delivery integrity.
Customer Engagement & Business Development
Act as a senior executive sponsor across strategic accounts, building trusted relationships with decision-makers and unlocking opportunities across energy planning, investment, operations, trading, and decarbonisation. Shape strategic pursuits in partnership with Sales and lead the development of scalable solution packages tailored to customer needs and sector contexts.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Product and Engineering teams to align delivery experience with roadmap priorities, ensuring structured feedback loops from the field. Work with Marketing to drive the creation of impactful content and market-facing collateral. Guide the evolution of cloud-native delivery methods, bridging power system expertise with modern IT delivery models.
Market Influence & Thought Leadership
Represent Energy Exemplar at high-profile industry events, forums, and roundtables, positioning PLEXOS as the standard in market simulation. Lead or oversee the publication of whitepapers, strategic studies, and insight reports that reinforce our market position and inform public and private sector decision-making. Actively contribute to regional business

- 15+ years of experience in the energy sector with demonstrable leadership in energy markets, planning, forecasting, or commercial advisory.
- Deep understanding of the European energy landscape, including liberalised and centrally planned systems, regulatory frameworks, policy evolution, and infrastructure investment planning.
- Strong familiarity with energy system modelling and simulation (e.g., with PLEXOS or equivalent platforms), but with a focus on how modelling drives decisions, value, and commercial outcomes.
- Experience working across a range of energy sector applications: price forecasting, grid planning, asset development, energy trading, decarbonisation strategies, and industrial electrification.
- Strong grasp of IT delivery concepts including cloud-native platforms and software-as-a-service (SaaS) operating models.
Leadership & GTM Alignment
- Demonstrated success in leading, coaching, and scaling technical or solutions teams in a client-facing environment.
- Strong understanding of sales motions, solution engineering, and value-based selling in B2B enterprise contexts.
- Comfortable partnering with commercial leaders to align technical resources with revenue strategy and market priorities
- Experience in consultative sales environments, ideally supporting or co-leading complex enterprise sales engagements.
