We are partnered with a leading Investment firm in London that offer trade and risk management services to their customer base.

This is an opportunity to join a front office technology team driving a major transformation within a global trading environment. The position available is a server-side developer with a strong background in C# development and FIX connectivity, to help build and maintain cutting-edge systems critical to their real-time trading operations.

The role is an opportunity to contribute to a wider technology modernisation initiative as they expand into Python-based microservices and leverage the power of Azure Cloud.

About the Role

As part of a fast-paced Front Office development group, you'll play a key role in building high-throughput, low-latency server-side applications that interface directly with financial exchanges.

This is a hands-on role reporting directly to the Front Office Tech Lead and offers significant exposure to financial markets, modern cloud-native development, and a collaborative DevOps-driven culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop microservices using C# and contribute to new Python service development as part of the broader transformation roadmap.
• Deliver performant FIX connectivity to financial exchanges (e.g., LME, ICE, Ffastfill).
• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services in Azure.
• Write secure, clean, well-tested code and maintain high engineering standards.
• Work collaboratively with business and technical stakeholders to implement and deliver new features.
• Deploy and manage containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Participate in peer code reviews, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Contribute to a DevOps culture leveraging Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Languages: C#, Python, PowerShell
• Protocols: FIX (OnixS engine experience is a bonus)
• Authentication: Entra ID, JWT
• Other Tools: Jira, Confluence, Octopus Deploy, SonarCloud

Ideal Candidate

You are a motivated and detail-oriented developer with experience working in financial services or a similarly demanding domain. You have proven experience in delivering backend systems with FIX protocol integration, and you're ready to contribute to a modern, cloud-based transformation journey that includes adopting Python microservices.

• Exposure to trading or commodities platforms.
• Experience with FDC3 or desktop interoperability standards.
• Awareness of modern frontend frameworks (React, HTML/CSS) is a plus.
