Safeguarding Lead - Surbiton and Chessington PCN

Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated, dynamic, and forward-thinking practitioner to work within our PCN. The ideal candidate can work autonomously, is reliable and flexible, and demonstrates expertise in safeguarding. You will oversee the quality of safeguarding practices within the PCN, support clinical practitioners, and ensure smooth information exchange between safeguarding partners within the legal framework, supporting the organisation's strategic direction.

You should have a relevant health/social work qualification and significant professional experience working with children and adults, with evidence of safeguarding casework and principles outlined in Making Safeguarding Personal. An excellent knowledge of relevant legislation, report writing, audit, supervision/teaching skills are essential. Good communication and team working skills are required to collaborate effectively with local authorities and healthcare providers.

This role provides clinical leadership and direction for safeguarding children and adults, ensuring statutory obligations are met across services.

Job Summary:

  1. Work with GPs within the PCN to identify, manage, and prioritise patient caseloads, referring to other professionals/organisations as needed.
  2. Oversee and manage the recording and coding of safeguarding information for consistency across the PCN.
  3. Collaborate with other service providers to share information, adhering to confidentiality and data protection laws.
  4. Maintain regular communication with GP practices, providing updates and managing quarterly meetings.
  5. Engage with patients using the service to ensure accessible, friendly, and responsive support.
  6. Reflectively and collaboratively improve the service and patient experience.
  7. Ensure service users receive professional and responsive support at all times.
